Welcome to the Bairds Mainfrieght Primary School page.
We are a decile 1 school set in the heart of Otara, where we have a vibrant Polynesian community. Our school has about 30% Maori, 30% Cook Island and 30% Samoan children. The other 10% is made up of our Tongan and Niuean students. We are immensely proud of our children and our community. We are also proud to be part of the Ako Nga Kura Cluster.
At Bairds Kim Benjamin and Fee McAree are lead teachers for our ICT focus. This year we are very excited about the Smart Boards that we have in all of our classes. This will be the main focus for our school professional development this year. At the moment, we are trying to deter the thieves who have taken a liking to our projectors...so far we have had 3 stolen!
We look forward to sharing what we are learning, and would love for people from the cluster to come and spend some time with us, so that they can see how incredible the learning can be with Smart Boards as a tool.
